Jeff Rona has joined the music branch of the Motion Picture Academy. A long time member of the Television Academy, Jeff was recently invited to the Motion Picture Academy, an honor reserved only for the most accomplished composers.
Jeff has worked as a musical collaborator on numerous films and records before landing his first solo composing project, scoring the groundbreaking television series “Homicide: Life On The Street” for director Barry Levinson. Since then he has scored dozens of film and television projects with directors such as Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg, Wong Kar-wai, Robert Altman, Steven Soderbergh, Mark Pellington, Stephen Hopkins, Jonathan Demme, and Frank Darabont among others. He has also scored several video games including the epic God of War 3, Far Cry 4, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Transformers, and more to come. He is a three time recipient of the ASCAP film and television music award. He also composed for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, including a live orchestral tour.
Jeff has also recorded and performed on album projects as a member of Jon Hassell’s highly regarded group, co-composing and producing the acclaimed “City-Works Of Fiction” album which toured and performed with Brian Eno. He has contributed music to Azam Ali and Nyaz, and his own solo album PROJECTOR was released last November.
