Justin Melland scored the Netflix Documentary Short, ‘Extremis,’ a 24-minute documentary about intensive hospital care and end-of-life decisions in Oakland, California’s Highland Hospital. The short documentary that manages to address several difficult questions about who ought to make the decisions of when it’s time to stop treatment was nominated for an Academy Award for the Best Documentary Short Category.
