Nathan Lanier

Nathan Lanier is a composer for film, television, and games who is known for his music in Jon M. Chu’s Apple TV+ Emmy Award winning mystery/drama series Home Before Dark, as well as Netflix’s hit film Falling For Christmas, starring Lindsay Lohan which includes Lanier’s new cover of the holiday classic Jingle Bell Rock, sung by Lohan and rapper Ali Tomineek. In addition to his popular epic sci-fi action score for Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, Lanier is also well known for his signature cinematic dance music for So You Think You Can DanceDancing with the StarsAmerica’s Got TalentWorld of Dance, Live To Dance and the Step Up and High Strung dance franchises. He is currently teaming up with Lindsay Lohan again for the Netflix romantic comedy Irish Wish – coming 2024. 

Lanier has scored over 20 feature films, including Universal’s Jem & The Holograms,Justin Bieber’s Believe, Max SteelHigh Strung and High Strung: Free Dance. His music has also been featured on ConanEllenGlee Live TourSo You Think You Can Dance Live TourISU World Figure Skating Championships, the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, and 2017 Carnival On Ice. In addition, he has written music for brands including MicrosoftAmerican ExpressT-MobileLG, McDonald’sDucati, the LA Clippers, and Korean Air.

Lanier holds a Master of Arts Degree in Composition and Film Scoring from NYU and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Violin Performance from Mannes College of Music in New York. In addition to composing, producing and conducting, Lanier plays the violin, viola, piano, and guitar. He has performed with Stevie Wonder, John Williams, Smokey Robinson, Kanye West, Macy Gray, Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, Isaac Hayes, Frank Sinatra Jr. and on such shows as Dancing with the Stars and The Tonight Show.
