{"id":21685,"date":"2015-03-13T15:31:05","date_gmt":"2015-03-13T23:31:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/34.221.30.245\/?p=21685"},"modified":"2015-04-24T16:24:14","modified_gmt":"2015-04-25T00:24:14","slug":"tim-phillips-joins-sma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/soundtrk.com\/?p=21685","title":{"rendered":"Tim Phillips joins SMA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Tim Phillips<\/strong> is a Canadian\/British composer living in Los Angeles and London.\u00a0 His distinctive music has powered many high-profile screen productions including 9 series of Channel 4\u2032s hit show\u00a0<i><strong>Shameless<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/i>HBO\u2019s <i>Entourage<\/i>, and<i>\u00a0<\/i>the 2015 film adaptation of <strong><i>Roald Dahl\u2019s<\/i> <\/strong><i><strong>Esio Trot<\/strong>, <\/i>starring Dustin Hoffman and Judi Dench.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014 Tim composed the live orchestral score to\u00a0<i>Dragon<\/i>, for The National Theatre of Scotland\/Vox Motus and Tianjin People\u2019s Art Theatre of China, which is on world tour throughout 2017.<\/p>\n<p>In his role as Co-Artistic Director, Tim writes music for Filter Theatre, one of Britain\u2019s most innovative and critically acclaimed theatre companies, of which he is also co-founder.\u00a0 Filter shows have toured all over the world.\u00a0 They are currently developing\u00a0<i>Guns &amp; Gold\u00a0<\/i>with writer David Greig (<i>Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) <\/i>and director Sir Michael Boyd (former Artistic Director of the RSC) and touring three shows internationally throughout 2015, including a new production of <i>MacBeth <\/i>for The Tobacco Factory in Bristol.\u00a0 Tim\u2019s non-Filter work in theatre includes composing the music for\u00a0<i>A Doll\u2019s House\u00a0<\/i>starring Gillian Anderson and Christopher Eccleston (Donmar Warehouse),\u00a0<i>Juliet And Her Romeo\u00a0<\/i>(Bristol Old Vic), David Hare\u2019s <i>The Secret Rapture,\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0<i>Playing the Victim\u00a0<\/i>(Royal Court).<\/p>\n<p>Tim has an ongoing musical theatre partnership with Marc Teitler.\u00a0 \u00a0 Their first musical\u00a0<i>The Grinning Man\u00a0<\/i>(directed by Tom Morris, director of <i>War Horse<\/i>) opens Spring 2016.\u00a0 Along with director Sir Michael Boyd, they have secured the rights to produce a stage musical of Dave Eggers&#8217; bestselling novel <i>The Circle <\/i>at the National Theatre in London.\u00a0 They are also developing a musical television series <i>House of Imbeciles <\/i>with the writer Sergio G.
