On April 16th, PBS’s ‘Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise’ was awarded one of nine Peabody Awards in the Documentary category and selected to the Peabody 30 for 2017. The documentary, scored by Stephen James Taylor, is the first feature documentary chronicling the life and work of Maya Angelou, who blazed a path as one of America’s leading writers and performers and was integral to the civil rights movement and celebration of the African-American experience.
